A-frame houses are too cute
While we were in Vermont, J and I stumbled across a little neighborhood full of A-frame houses.
All together they looked so very sweet.

This post is for my friend Deb who asked me whether Wally had found a mud patch to wiggle in after the rain. This is the answer.
Today we hiked a very short part of the Appalachian Trail from Gifford Woods State Park near Kent Pond and on to—according to the brochure—”a series of stunning pools and waterfalls.”
The whole hike was amazing (though I’m afraid both J and Wally are a little pooped).
Today we went into Rochester (pop. 1171) and stopped for lunch at Sandy’s. I knew I was going to love Sandy’s immediately because the other half its name has two of my all time favorite words: books and bakery. Hello, new friend.

As I mentioned last week, Lindsay from Shrimp Salad Circus has organized the “Get Perspective Project“: a project where she gives contributors a word or phrase, and everyone can contribute one photo to the pool.
Structure can really spur creativity (just ask the 17th century French dramatists), and I was really amazed at the diversity of the submissions for the word “gone.” Below are a few of the ones I took for the project, and below those are my favorites of the ones submitted to the pool.
(This last photo was my contribution.)
These are my favorite photos from the group:
Gone by Kelly from The Pretty Bee
Lenin is Gone by Gali from Where is Gali(nette)?
Gone by Crystal from The House of Hearts
You can see Lindsay’s favorites here.
Howdy! Hi! Hello!
As I mentioned on Friday, instead of T-shirt Tuesday this week I’m posting my stop on the One Sydney Road Alphabet Walk Blog Hop.
If you found me through the blog hop, and this is your first time here, WELCOME! My name’s Erika and greenapril is the place where I keep a record of all the things I like, but especially graphic design (on t-shirts, posters, and stationery), art, books, and music (I like the old stuff).
I’m so glad to have you, and hope you’ll come back to visit soon!
Today, I have the magical letter H.
I chose H because it’s the first letter of my last name. And since it’s also the first letter of “home,” I decided to look for things near my home in Manhattan. Here’s what I found around my ‘hood:
As an added bonus, here are a few of my favorite H words (courtesy of Wordle)
I’ll be posting my faves from each day of the blog hop as part of my Friday Finds this week, so be sure to check back. Now, go take a look at the rest of the Tuesday gang (letters F-J), and especially my fellow H homies: Happiness Is… and Art Shades.
